Nestled in a charming spot known as Moody Hollow, next to the headwaters of the Hiawassee River, guests find a special solitude. Wi-Fi, hot showers, bathhouse, hiking, nature trails, and pet friendly. For recreation on site there are two large meadows for outdoor games, or you can enjoy watching the river's rushing waters and feeding the elusive mountain trout. Three charming cabins available for rent. Nearby attractions: 15 minute drive to Bavarian town of Helen which includes Authentic German bakery and restaurants along with quaint shops, carriage rides, putt putt golf, helicopter rides, and more. 10 minute drive to Hiawassee which includes many quaint shops, great restaurants, activities on Lake Chatuge, The Georgia Mountain Fair and Anderson Music Hall, Funworld (Movie Theater, games, laser tag, go carts, and batting cages). 20 minute drive to Brasstown Valley Resort and Golf Course. Play the beautiful 18 hole links course nestled in a valley or go horseback riding on their many trails.

Appalachian Campground Directions

GPS: 34.830012N, -83.730904W From Helen: Take Hwy 75 North to Hiawassee. The campground is on the right in the valley about 1/2 mile after the Appalachian Trail. From Hiawassee: Go East on Hwy 76 and turn right on Hwy 75 heading towards Helen. It's about 7 miles down road after Deer Lodge Restaurant on the left in Moody Hollow Valley.

Open April 1st - October 31st. P.A. discount is valid one night. No mini bikes, ATVs, or go carts. No fishing.
